Gymnastics Meet

I never got a chance to post some of the photos from Justin's gymnastics meet last weekend. What a fabulous event! The gymnastics place he takes class at did such a great job organizing it for the kids. Justin did really well. We were so impressed with his discipline and skill.

School Vacation Week Catch Up

This past week was Spring vacation for the big boys. What a fun and busy week we had!

Justin attended a local minor league ballpark baseball clinic Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings from 8am to 12pm. I wish I could say that I had some pictures to share, but, being at the ballpark with Nathan proved to be anything but relaxing or delightful. Therefore, we couldnt stay to watch and take pictures of Justin at camp. He did have alot of fun and said he learned alot from the camp. Its run really well and the kids get to learn from actual players on the team and from the coaches who train those players. The last day of the camp they had an autograph session and Justin was thrilled to get 7 autographs from the players he had worked with during the week. I did stay for the autograph signing (with Nathan strapped in a stroller crying the whole time) and the players were so nice and friendly to the kids. Really a great experience for him.

On Monday the boys had a playdate with their cousin Andrew which was a ton of fun. And on Monday night Justin had his last gymnastics session until next Fall. With baseball starting up and practice and games three nights a week, something had to give and Justin chose baseball over gymnastics for the Spring.

On Tuesday Evan had occupational therapy and Nathan and I had a quick visit to see Nana and Aunt Mary. Tuesday after baseball camp Justin got to visit my mom at her school and meet her class! Nearly all the kids are his age now. I remember back when Justin was 2 or 3 bringing him in the school to see my mom and all her second graders seemed so grown up compared to him. Now he is nearly one of them! GULP. After that, my mom and I dragged all three of the boys to a local shoe store and got sneakers and sandals for all. Three sizes, many different opinions, and finally some decisions later, we left ready for Spring/Summer for all the boys!

Wednesday after we did the autograph session at the baseball camp all the kids and I headed over to swim lessons for Evan. Afterwards to celebrate Evan's success under water swimming we picked him and Justin up some nice pairs of goggles for the summer! The boys are getting so excited for swimming and the beach! Thankfully the weather is warming up too, which helps believe that summer might actually get here eventually!

Thursday morning Evan had his last gymnastics class until the Fall. We are sad to leave gymnastics class, Evan has been making such great gains. However, with occupational therapy, physical therapy, swim therapy and TWO prechools, there just is no time for everything. Thursday we got new living room furniture! A new sofa and love seat. We also had an all afternoon playdate from some long-time friends in town. Thursday night Justin had baseball practice.

Friday morning Justin had a playdate with a friend from school. And Nathan had a playdate with his little baby friend Kai. Five boys in the house!!! It was quite loud but fun! In the evening Justin had a parade in town to kick off baseball season. He was so excited to participate in the parade with all his teammates and friends on other teams. It was a great community event. After the parade we brought the boys to see some antique cars that were in town. Nathan was riveted, his favorite thing right now are cars which he calls "go-gos".

Today was Justin's first baseball game of the season. He did really well. Its very cute watching him as part of a team, cheering on his teammates and really getting excited to be part of the game. Also today G got his riding lawn mower delivered! All the boys took turns riding on it with daddy and Justin even got to steer for G. I kept thinking, flash forward 8 years to Justin learning to drive a car! We did quite a bit of yard work today outdoors too. The yard is really coming along nicely.

Swimming with Evan

Evan has been doing swim therapy for 3 weeks now. He has private lessons with the most wonderful woman at a local pool. He LOVES it and works really hard. For his disability, swimming is one of the best therapies so we feel fortunate to be able to offer him this type of one on one therapy. Evan is turning into a fabulous swimmer, which makes me infinitely happy because if he can coordinate his body in the water, its not long after that he will be able to coordinate his movements outside the water too.

Today Evan swam UNDER water. He also floated independently on his back., he did both this WITHOUT a float of any type! We are so proud of him!!!

From the Garden

More flowers from our garden which is absolutely exploding with so many varieties of Spring flowers! Wonderful.

Happy Easter!

Nathan in a ridiculously cute and out of character for him, outfit. My three sons.

The big boys.

Everyone with Nana.

We had a wonderful day today at our house with my parents. We had dinner, made a quick visit so the boys could see their Great Nana and Aunt and Uncle Mary, dyed eggs, played in the yard and had our first bonfire!

Dont Forget!!!

Dont forget to follow my daily picture blog , look under my profile for it!!!!

Easter Egg Hunt and Easter Bunny

Evan, Justin and Andrew before the hunt.
Nathan picking up eggs. He found an egg!
The boys with the bunny!

Hooray! No one was afraid of the Easter Bunny this year! Nathan was suspicious but did not cry.

We went to our town's Easter egg hunt this year, it was FABULOUS. Have I mentioned how much I adore our new town? Its fabulous, it has so many wonderful town programs for the kids, and has such a community feel. The kids had a blast at the egg hunt. I took Nathan to the "little kid" hunt area and G and Scott and Molly took the big boys to the more advanced hunting area. They all got tons of fabulous prizes of lollipops, pez despensers, ring pops. And they had an Easter bunny for the kids to sit with.

The Week/Weekend

Its seed planting time (6-8 weeks before the last frost). This year we have a HUGE garden spot, I would estimate conservatively its 30 ft by 30ft, already cleared and ready for planting! We are going to utilize a small fraction of that this year and plant tomatoes, two varieties, canteloupe (Justin's pick), zucchini, peppers, squash, pumpkins and carrots. Justin and Evan helped me start some of the seeds today. The boys were entertained with bubbles and their Nana this afternoon.
Huge smiles, thats what I love to see from my kids outdoors!!!
Nathan playing baseball in the yard. He watched Evan set up the ball on the tee and hit it, and then when Evan abandoned the play, he came over and did the same! I was impressed he could set the ball on the tee. He spent at least 20 minutes setting the ball and hitting it off. He was very proud of himself.
All three of the boys checking out the cement in the hole of the support pole to the swingset. Check out the height on that swingset - 10 feet! Many, many years of play for all the boys at that height.
The best part of the whole process was the cement, hands down. Justin helped his daddy and Pa add water while they mixed the cement. All 17 bags of it!!!
Nathan and Evan having a picnic lunch outdoors this afternoon. This is the life!

We sold our house!!!!!!!!!!!! Signed, sealed and delivered. We are very relieved to put those 7 months behind us. A teeny-tiny part of me wanted one more snow storm though, just so we could say we didnt have to shovel the WHOLE winter times two houses. :)

What a wonderful weekend, the weight of the other house not bearing down on us, the wonderful weather. Just simply magnificent. We spent the weekend doing yardwork. Which we did with a huge smile on our faces, because we have a yard to do yardwork in! The boys spent every minute of the entire weekend outdoors! They played in the sandbox, dug in the yard, raked with us, played field hockey, soccer, baseball, climbed trees, played with bubbles and had a picnic - you name it they did it!!!

On Sunday G and my dad worked on putting up the swingset! Thank you so much mom and dad for you help - we could not have done it without you. The swingset is fabulous! We have never owned a swingset before because we never had the space so we are especially excited about this one. Its HUGE. It took 17 bags of cement and counting-since its not completed yet. The boys cannot wait to try it out, and me too!

The Boys

My boys. They really dont like getting their picture taken, which is unfortunate since I love taking pictures. At least they are cute :) I have a few minutes of semi-quiet to update whats going on in our lives. Evan. Evan's been a pretty busy kid as of late! Evan started a new preschool, an integrated program in our town, in the afternoons three days a week. He is receiving OT services through the preschool program. His first day was today and he seemed to transition very well to the new school setting and new friends. We are absolutely thrilled to get him into this program and serviced through the school and are eager to see how he does for the remainder of the year. We decided to keep him in his mornings private preschool program as well, because he loves it there so much and has bonded so well with the teachers and children, it just doesnt seem right pulling him this late in the year. Two schools means LOTS of school time, and a very tired boy at the end of the day. Evan also started private swim therapy this week. Its alot of work for him, but, he is having fun too! Justin. Justin has been Mr. Popular lately, three birthday parties in two weekends. We are so happy that he has made some good friends in our new town. Justin's baseball season has begun. Justin had indoor practice this past weekend and another this coming weekend and then hopefully the fields will be ready for outdoor practices and games! Justin is on the Cardinals team this year. The start of baseball means the end of gymnastics (actually both the boys are finishing up gymnastics as of the end of April to make way for their outdoor spring sports). Justin loves gymnastics so much that Im sure we will be back at it in the Fall though! Nathan. As Im typing this Nathan has turned on the television using the remote by himself. The kid is quite impressive. He is a little chatter box. He has so many words now and understands even more than he can say, following one and two step commands (one of our favorites is to tell him to go find his binky when he is getting whiney or tired, which leads to cute head turning and peeking around the room to find one). Nathan is quite a monkey and now can climb up on most chairs, tables, the sofa, etc. This has added a whole new dimension to the baby proofing in our home. The other day I heard Evan yelling for me to come quick while Nathan was standing up on top of the dining room table! Nathan had his second haircut this past week. Im sorry to say his hair hasnt gotten much thicker, but, it sure does grow fast! He might be our only boy without thick hair, which would mean a chance at a real styled haircut instead of his brothers standard shaves :)
