Hugging, Elmo, Who Wore It Better, And Other Things

Nathan wearing the Oscar sweatshirt today.
Justin sports the Oscar Sweatshirt in 2005.

Kissing baby doll.
Singing the lalalala song.Hugging Elmo.

Lest you think we havent gotten any snow this week, let me assure you that we got plenty last night into this morning. Luckily the kids only had a two hour delay so that was good for all our sanity! Unfortunately the roads were pretty bad even with the delay and I got into a minor car accident on the way home. Everyone is fine. But, it was quite scary for me, and Evan who was in the car at the time. Nathan slept right through the entire thing thankfully. The hassel of dealing with getting it apparaised through the insurance and fixed (which means no way to get all the kids to one place because G's car doesnt fit all three car seats) is stressful and annoying though. Sigh.

Today I present you with two pictures of the boys: Nathan and Justin wearing the same outfit, 6 years span in time. Its called Who Wore It Better? If any of you watch the Fashion Police on E!you might enjoy this segment of the blog. Clearly both pull off the look. Note the bare feet both choose? I think it fits Justin a bit better though. :) I wish I would have saved more clothes from Justin and Evan. Darn you "two and through" false thinking. Anyways, Im going to try and dig up more photos and clothes I saved. Im a sucker for this sort of thing!

Nathan is really into hugging and kissing his toys lately. This combined for his love of all things Elmo (he even sings the Lalalala song when he sees Elmo) is a sweet result. Here he is kissing his baby doll (which was my baby doll when I was a girl) and hugging Elmo. Awwww...
Tonight I started my 12 week course Im taking through the adult continuing education in our town - crocheting. Nana would be so proud!!! Its a couple hours each week and we are going to be learning many different types of crocheting and making a purse/bag throughout the class! The ladies are all so nice in the class too. My cheeks were hurting from laughing so much during class.

Wednesday

A couple cute pictures of the boys. It was Taco Wednesday, which is not as catchy as Taco Tuesday but just as yummy. The boys really love tacos, this is something we just discovered last week with Scott, Molly and Andrew. Also a photo of my new phone in the kitchen!!! Im so excited - thank you mom and dad, it was a Christmas present that just got delivered today and G so graciously hung for me tonight!!! I just adore its country charm and antique look. YAY!

Outside Fun!

Today the boys had no school again. We got about 8 inches of snow followed by a freezing rain that has made very nasty conditions. In the afternoon I got a little desperate and dragged all the boys outdoors (they were quite nearly crawling the walls of the house indoors). I shoveled the driveway while the boys had lots of fun playing in the yard. Justin figured out how to ride this little toy truck down the driveway, and had an absolute blast doing so! Here is a cute video of him. *Note: The baby was asleep and I had the monitor outside and right as I started taping this video Nathan started crying. I assure you that he was not left alone in his crib for more than the couple minutes it took me to get in the house and get him.

This One Is For You Mom - Catch Up

Nathan's new haircut.
Evan baking cookies with me.

Evan and Nathan at play together with some action figures. Nathan, happy boy.

Silly Evan.

Nathan and Evan having a blast together.

Nathan discovered a love for apples. He prefers them whole! He can eat an entire apple as a snack! He has an amazing appetite.

The view of the backyard after a big snow storm last week. The view out of our front driveway after the storm and the plow!

The boys have been really into board games lately. Monsters Inc Life is one of our current favorites.

Upon the request of my mom, Im going to update our regular blog, but, keep checking our 365 project for daily pictures!!

The kids have barely been in school the past two weeks. Evan had school Monday and has been out since then due to snow days and teacher workshops and MLK holiday. Justin only had three days of school last week. Its not looking good for tomorrow either with a snowstorm and ice storm one-two-punch.

In the meantime, we have been keeping really busy! We have had ALOT of playdates with friends, played alot of games, baked, played, played, played, seen some movies, had a sleepover and tried not to go stir crazy!

The big news is that Nathan got a haircut! According to some (ahem - G) it was long overdue. G and I tag-teamed him and gave it to him ourselves. It makes him look incredibly old and alot like Justin at the same age! Bye bye cute baby curls. Hello toddler-hood.

Justin had a sleepover at my parent's house over the weekend. He was very excited to have a day away with Nana and Pa. He just couldnt contain himself with excitement and wanted to do everything all at once when he got to their house. He got to work on Pa's old erector set from when he was a kid, which was a special treat. And to play darts - something he isnt allowed to do at his own house!!! And stay up late, something he never does at our house.

While Justin was away Evan and I got take out for dinner and bought a special Lowes kit for making a mini golf setup. Him and daddy have been working hard on it the past few nights, he got to use a drill and a saw for the project which is really exciting!
Last Tuesday we went over Scott, Molly and Andrew's house for Taco Tuesday night! I was a bit skeptical about the whole idea because my kids have never eaten tacos and are notoriously picky eaters. However, we have been on a "we all eat the same thing for dinner" plan for the last month now. To my surprise and joy the boys LOVED Taco Tuesday with their cousin. They had two tacos each!!! What a fun night. Thanks Scott and Molly we will definitely do Taco Tuesday again soon as the boys are begging for tacos again!!
Evan started gymnastics a couple weeks ago. I feel like I live at the gym now, with both boys there for an hour each a week. Evan loves his new class. He is thrilled that he and his brother both have the same coach! We are hoping that gymnastics will help strengthen Evan's muscles a bit mroe and help him. If nothing else, he sure is having fun.
